Elizabeth Gunn, Pre-Licensed Professional, MA

Elizabeth holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the Marriage and Family Therapy emphasis.

She primarily utilizes a strengths-based, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed approach to help her individual clients. She frequently incorporates the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment to identify and leverage her clients’ strengths while addressing areas for growth. Additionally, she integrates the use of genograms to explore family patterns and how these dynamics impact her clients’ mental health.

Elizabeth’s work with couples is grounded through an integration of the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples deepen their emotional connection and resolve conflicts. She also utilizes assessments such as Prepare-Enrich to guide couples in identifying both their relational strengths and growth areas.

In addition to her one-on-one and couples counseling, Elizabeth has facilitated numerous workshops at churches and organizations throughout the Memphis area. Her workshops primarily focus on burnout and DBT skills (mindfulness, emotions regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance). She provides both educational content and practical tools for those struggling with these issues.
